ACPU Announces the Keynote Speaker for Their 2013 Annual Meeting

The Association of Clinical Pharmacology Units (ACPU) the home for the Clinical Pharmacology Unit community has announced that Dr. Greg Koski an internationally renowned leader for human clinical trial subject protection and clinical research quality and safety is the keynote speaker for the 2013 ACPU annual meeting.

Dr. Koski was the first director of the United States Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) is CEO of the Alliance for Clinical Research Excellence and Safety (ACRES) and is a Director of Clinical Research at Massachusetts General Hospital.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Koski at the annual meeting this year" said Donna Dorozinsky ACPU President. "Dr. Koski's keynote is a fantastic addition to our program. He co-founded and is CEO of the Alliance for Clinical Research Excellence and Safety which works toward collaboratively reshaping the world of global clinical research. This approach is patterned after the international air transport system and leverages the expertise of stakeholders world-wide. These goals are congruent with those of the ACPU and set the stage to fundamentally change the way we do clinical research."

The ACPU annual meeting will take place at the Marriott Courtyard hotel located in the historic River Walk in San Antonio Texas on October 21st-23rd. Other confirmed speakers include Marjorie A. Speers PhD President and CEO of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) who will discuss IRB issues in early phase research and Anthony Tolcher M.D. FRCP of South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics who will review the past and future of Phase 1 Oncology Research. In addition ACPU's annual meeting has a history of offering a unique opportunity for all attendees to tour Clinical Pharmaceutical Units and this year is no exception with tours of both World Wide Clinical Trials' and the Texas Liver Institute's state-of-the-art San Antonio facilities.

ACPU is the home for the Clinical Pharmacology Unit community. While other groups address the science of early phase studies ACPU is the only organization that provides support for CPUs and staff to meet the significant operational challenges of early phase study conduct. ACPU members are a community of Clinical Pharmacology Units their staff and CPU support professions.
